William Shakespear said, “The eyes are the windows to the soul.” I believe this to be true.

Eyes are one of the first things people notice upon meeting; they tell so much about a person. I decided to do this exhibit on the human eye. Eyes are a fascinating part of a person’s personality: they show the depth of human emotion. You can tell if a person is lying or if a person is flirting. A person’s eyes are their very soul speaking to you.

I am a self-taught artist, born in RI, who enjoys painting the human eye, pieces about time, and abstract art. I like making fantastical scenes and paintings inspired by songs. I like not knowing where the piece will go as I let the paint guide my imagination. There are many times I have intentions of making one piece of work, but another comes as a result.

I work primarily with acrylics on canvas. I like the textures I can pull out of them and the vibrance of their colors. Plus, they dry fast, and I have little patience waiting on paint to dry. Art has allowed me to use new and exciting elements such as incorporating ashes and coffee, as well as other mediums to my paintings. I have created a few recycled sculptures as well.
