Description:Spend time drawing from direct observation in the scenic setting of Colt State Park while cultivating mindfulness through close looking and non-judgmental mark making. Students will explore the relationship between observation, attention, and creative process, using drawing as a way to slow down and engage with the surrounding landscape. Through a combination of guided exercises and sustained drawing sessions, participants will create a collection of observational work that emphasizes curiosity and discovery rather than perfection or outcome. No prior drawing experience is necessary—only a willingness to observe carefully and make marks freely.

What You’ll Master: Students will strengthen their observational drawing skills while developing mindful attention, non-judgmental creative practices, and the ability to translate close visual experience in a series of expressive drawings

Other details: Be comfortable in nature and bring a chair or blanket
