ARTIST COLLABORATOR: Melanie dai Medeiros
Melanie Dai Medeiros is a visual artist and papermaker living and working in our area. Her work is inspired by memory—how it fades, shifts, and sometimes blends with imagination. Using handmade paper and sculptural techniques, she creates layered works that feel both familiar and slightly off, like half-remembered moments.
Her process is hands-on and experimental, involving building, casting, carving, and painting. By combining direct observation with remembered experiences and dreams, Medeiros creates work that reflects the way we all piece together our own versions of reality.
She is passionate about raising awareness of our collective impact on our environment and its inhabitants and is working toward using more sustainable art practices. In 2020, Melanie received her MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston where she had obtained her BFA in 2003.
All work is available for sale. Commissions welcomed.
