Your generosity powers our Mission:
To provide access to opportunities for creatives and the community to exhibit, experience, and learn through the arts.
A LETTER FROM THE BOARD:
Dear Friend and Supporter,
A student is delighted to see her artwork on a gallery wall and welcomes her friends to the opening reception. A working artist shares and sells what he created. And someone trying a workshop for the first time discovers a whole universe of new ideas and skills. All in Warren, Rhode Island.
For ten years, The Collaborative has helped make these experiences part of life in our community. Founded by a group of artists in 2016, we believe everyone deserves the chance to create, experience art, and share their talents. No one should be kept from art by lack of money or experience.
Our Youth Artist of the Month program gives students exhibition space, an opening reception, and the chance to sell their work without paying a commission. Our exhibitions are non-juried, so no one has to be chosen or credentialed to be seen, and our artist collaborators bring the work of active, working artists into our galleries.
Free film screenings, poetry nights, and workshops draw people together to create and learn. Warren Folks Fest, which celebrated its tenth year, brings local music, art, and neighbors together for a free community celebration. There is a place for the artist in everyone here. Our generous partners include the Warren Health Equity Zone, the George Hail Free Library, and the Warren Arts and Cultural Commission.
Keeping our programs free or affordable takes community support. We pay the artists and instructors who lead our workshops and classes because their time and skill are worth it. Your gift helps cover those costs, along with the gallery space, materials, and the staff who organize our events. At a time of uncertainty for arts funding, your support keeps this work possible in our community.
2026 has been a year of transition. Our executive director stepped down in late 2025, as our programs and partnerships have continued. Our board and staff are laying the groundwork for a long-term plan to strengthen the organization, support future leadership, and guide our programs. We want to build on what this community has created and make sure more people have the opportunity to take part.
Will you make a gift by December 31 so the next young artist has a place to exhibit, the next workshop welcomes someone new, and our neighbors keep finding art and connection right here in Warren?
