Martin Donnell - November Feature Artist
My work examines the idea of recycling and reusing. I use aluminum beverage cans, repurposing the material to make my images. I worked for over 35 years in corporate design, and I like the idea that I am not only recycling the aluminum can itself, but also that I can reuse the graphic design work that went into the making of the cans. I like taking them from their intended purpose, as packaging for soda or beer, and giving them a new meaning.
Originally from Elkhart Indiana, I have lived in New England since 1986, working as an athletic footwear designer until retiring and moving to Warren last year.
