While I explore new paintings,  my hope is to express the emotional intimacy of the soul.  We are all uniquely ordinary and I want my pieces to reflect the significance of the ordinary and to expose a deeper story.   I desire to capture the feeling of a private moment by holding on to a glance from each face.  We allow the world to see some of our faces, while others are hidden from the world.

There is a fluidity in my approach that includes representation, abstraction and vulnerability.  I seek a playful energy when you look at my pieces.  As you stare into their faces, you might find yourself curious about who they might be, where they’ve been and where they want to go.  Perhaps you know them already?

Each time I approach a new and empty canvas, I feel as if I am painting for the very first time. It's always a new experience with each piece of art. I am still finding my way.

I am new to Rhode Island, having moved here from the West Coast in 2021.

You can find more of my art pieces on Instagram @tracyeplerart.
