Using a variety of acrylic mediums with or without carborundum, you will learn to make plates that can hold a wide range of values; from gritty deep dark spaces to washes of light tone. The materials are applied directly to the surface of the plate using a variety of applications.
You will further develop the plates with the addition of drypoint to increase the definition and texture of the image. Unlike traditional cut and paste collagraphs, these carborundum/acrylic collagraphs have a painterly look and feel.
