SAVE THE DATE for FOLKS FEST IX: This FREE, family-friendly celebration of local creativity takes place on Saturday, August 16th from 1-7pm at 30 Cutler Street in Warren, RI. Grab your kids, your friends, your dog (yes, really)—and maybe your dancing shoes (or best moves)—because the 9th Annual Warren Folks Festival is back and bigger than ever!  Expect an unforgettable day of live music, colorful performances, community art, locally made goods, mouth-watering food, and ice-cold craft beer (whew!). This is a true community celebration, where everyone is welcome. Now read on to learn more about this month's workshops and artist openings! Here is what we've got going on at The Collaborative Lab, 508 Main Street. . . On Thursday, July 3rd, 6-8pm, stop by The Lab and check out the opening for Feature Artists Antoine Soued and Katie Khan! An architect by day, dressed in minimal attire and spit-shined shoes, Antoine sheds his adopted persona come nighttime, and disappears into his self-created deranged reality of villains, superheroes and tobacco women. You won't want to miss his incredible sketches! Katie works in watercolor, gouache, and pen, and loves to find the overlooked wonder of ordinary things. Be sure to check out her remarkable pieces! Next up is July's Open Mic Poetry Night! Join us on Friday, July 11th, 6:30-8pm for an inspiring evening — bring good friends and poems to share! On Saturday, July 19th from 3:30-5:30pm, join Artist Collaborator Rick Altergott for a Folks Fest IX Screen Print Demo! These are limited edition, and can be purchased for a donation of $5. Now here is what's going on at the gallery, 4 Market Street. . . IT'S BACK!! Join us on Thursday, July 10th, 6-9pm, for the much anticipated Teeny Tiny Show with Teeny Martini Samples! Peruse tiny pieces from 16 Artists and over 50+ works. All work is under 3” and taken at time of purchase. There’s always room on the wall for Teeny Tiny Art!
