Have you always wanted to write (a book, a short story, an article, a blog, a post) but couldn’t quite get started? This workshop, led by longtime writer Tamar Abrams, will share tips and strategies for beginning the process. We will start with the opening paragraph: How to make it sing, how to hook your reader, how to distinguish your writing. Come with an idea of what you want to write about. It can be about someone else, or about yourself, or about a burning issue, or about anything at all.
You will leave the workshop with your first paragraph. It may not be perfect, but you will have the information and skills to make it as perfect as it can be along with ideas for how to proceed. Each participant will receive feedback on their opening paragraph from the workshop leader and from fellow writers.
Age range - 16+ Some of the best writers have begun in their late teens or late 60s. It’s never too early or too late!
Skill level: Beginners or those who haven’t written in a long time
